Kanye West‘s mother-in-law, Alexandra Censori, has made her first public appearance since allegations the rapper made disturbing comments about her surfaced amidst a lawsuit filed by his ex-assistant, Lauren Pisciotta. The news has surfaced amidst claims that West and wife Bianca Censori are headed for divorce.
After being dogged by Daily Mail reporters and paparazzi while shopping in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, on Monday, Alexandra Censori said that she wouldn’t be commenting on the claims in the suit and requested privacy during the time.
In the suit, Pisciotta alleges that West made sexually explicit comments about his mother-in-law to both Bianca Censori and his assistant, including requests that he could have sex with her in front of his wife. In June this year, Kanye West’s legal representatives said they intended to file a counterclaim against Pisciotta over her “baseless allegations” and, according to the Los Angeles Times, accused her of coercion, blackmail and extortion.
What The Lauren Pisciotta Lawsuit Alleges About Kanye West’s Sexual Comments About Mother-In-Law
Amongst the serious allegations lodged in Lauren Pisciotta’s lawsuit, which was filed in June, the former assistant claimed West had a kink for having sex with the mothers of his sexual partners. Pisciotta worked for West between 2021 and 2022 and is currently suing West for stalking and harassing her.
Daily Mail has reported that among many claims in the 88-page lawsuit, Pisciotta alleged that West had sent her a screenshot of a conversation with Bianca Censori. The text was sent to Censori while her mother was visiting and read: “I wanna f**k your mum. Before she leaves.”
After sending the message, he allegedly asked Pisciotta, “Should I add I meant I want you to watch me f**k your mum?”
Pisciotta says West insisted on her responding to the question and then shared Cenosri’s response and Censori’s reply minutes after sending the text. “She’s married,” Censori replied, according to the Daily Mail,” adding, “I’m going to f**k someone this weekend and tell you the next time you’re inside me.”
Other Allegations Of Inappropriate Sexual Behaviour In Lauren Pisciotta’s Lawsuit
Pisciotta’s allegations form part of a broader complaint around West’s inappropriate treatment of her in the workplace, stalking and harassment.
She alleged that in another instance, West texted her about a model he had requested for a sunglasses campaign for his fashion label Yeezy. He again asked her advice about his sexual conquests.
“Is [redacted fashion model] better for me than [another redacted fashion model]? How do I tell her I need to f**k her mom baaad?”
Pisciotta’s lawsuit against West is extensive and contains serious allegations, amongst them stalking, sex trafficking and harassment. It also includes further claims about West leveraging his fashion label, Yeezy, and fashion connections to conduct sexual relationships with employees. It alleges that he had a “rotating list of guests” at the Yeezy offices who were given ‘obscure job titles’ and told to sign NDAs. Pisciotta alleged that employees were told to assemble “bedrooms” in the office with mattresses, blankets and pillows in office rooms and even closets.
West’s wife, Bianca Censori, first met West when he offered the architect and influencer a position at Yeezy via Instagram DMs. According to her, LinkedIn is still working for the company. While there have been many reports of the couple’s relationship breakdown, they have yet to file for divorce and were seen shopping in a Tokyo mall last week.
Who Is Lauren Pisciotta
Lauren Pisciotta is a 36-year-old social media influencer and successful OnlyFans star. However, according to Forbes, West insisted she deleted her account when she became his assistant. Pisciotta was abruptly fired in 2022 and claims in her suit that West failed to pay her a $3 million severance package.
Kanye West’s History Of Mental Health Issues
Kanye West has a history of mental issues and has previously attributed racist and politically inflammatory statements to his mental health. According to The Cut, West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016 after being hospitalised for a psychiatric emergency. Since then, he has discussed manic episodes, Tweeting and performing through them and referring to bipolar disorder as his “superpower”.
In 2019, he spoke about his episodes in an interview with David Letterman, saying, “I ramp up, I go high,” describing delusions and paranoia as well as memories of hospitalisation. In 2020, then-wife Kim Kardashian defended the rapper on Instagram, writing: Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” adding that West was “a brilliant and complicated person,” whose, “words sometimes do not align with his intentions”. Many publications, including The Cut, The Washington Post and USA Today, have commented on the difficulty of reporting on West’s problematic comments and behaviour, given his mental health issues.
Of course, many feel a mental health diagnosis is irrelevant when applied to racist remarks or the allegations of abuse that have been levelled against West.
