Elle Fanning Gets Giddy For Coach’s Fall 2024 Campaign

It’s balancing act for brands to remain true-to-tone whilst simultaneously exploring new, uncharted territories. Engaging a scroll-happy Gen Z? Even more difficult.

But it’s a challenge American brand Coach knows well, proven by their knack for reinventing iconic staples in their rolling collections. Coach has become known as a brand that knows how to release newness that lands, supporting up-and-coming talent and spotlighting worthy causes – whilst simultaneously oozing cool-factor.

Case in point, their spirited Fall 2024 collection and campaign ‘Unlock Your Courage’, which is bolstered by some serious star power.

The collection is best described as equal parts playful to classic (a style Coach has become synonymous with), and innovative. It features new colourways, eccentric patterns and bold silhouettes. The Brooklyn Shoulder Bag 39, donned by new global ambassador Elle Fanning is the perfect carry-all bag.

Joining alongside Fanning in the distinctive campaign is Charles Melton, Nazha and Euphoria’s Storm Reid, who are welcomed by returning Coach Family members Jayson Tatum, Kōki, and Youngji Lee. If we could cherry-pick our dream Award-Show table, this would be it.

The poignant campaign, much like the A-listers featured, exudes personality.  It introduces the collection through a series of unique (read as: deliciously quirky) stories anchored by a respective ambassador. The underlying theme of each video is movement. Through movement the starlets find the courage to embrace their own unique style and boldly pursue their passions. We deduce a gorgeous Coach handbag in tow, is enough to reignite our confidence too.

Fanning’s vignette sees the ethereal actress seated in a waiting room (likely familiar territory), visibly anxious and rattled (less familiar territory for the ultra-composed star). Suddenly she feels her handbag jerk right. It jerks left. With a mind of its own, it sharply catapults itself across the room. Fanning *quite literally* flexes her ballet-background as she eloquently chases the must-have accessory. Between pirouettes, of course. Subsequently she nails the audition. Self-expression, creativity and chic-purses reign supreme.

Meanwhile, the ever-charismatic, heartthrob Charles Melton finds himself nervously preening ahead of a date. The iconic League Flap Backpack has other plans. He’s steadily pulled through the lobbies, lifts, alleyways and even commercial kitchens before he’s reunited with his romantic prospect. This time, with an air of free-spirited confidence that he mustered throughout the journey.

The common thread between the clips is the reminder to break free from the notions of perfection, and instead embrace individual style and self-expression.

The campaign rollout is a continuation of the brand’s larger scale, purpose-lead platform ‘The Courage to Be Real‘.  Aligned with the American brand’s core values, the platform propels inclusivity and challenges individuals to be their most authentic, fearlessly courageous selves.
