When Chanel calls you answer, so it’s little wonder that for Chanel’s first ever presentation on Australian soil on 5 October, the guest list included the likes of Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Kylie Minogue and Baz Luhrmann. Studded with some of Australia’s most beloved celebrities, sports stars and fashion icons, the guest list for Chanel’s cruise 2026/27 replica show was almost as dazzling as the show itself, which, if you’ve seen it, you would know is no short order.

Showing its Cruise 2026/27 collection — a show that made its debut in Biarritz in late-April — guests of Chanel, from global house ambassadors like Kidman and Robbie to celebrities who share a relationship with the house and VICs (Very Important Clients), descended on Barangaroo. The House took over The Cutaway, a recently opened cavernous cut-out in the area’s sandstone hill, transforming it into a room from Le Municipal Casino, the historic building in the heart of Biarritz where the original show took place.

Though the 2:30pm show was mostly reserved for media, Australia’s enduring pop princess Kylie Minogue was in attendance, seated alongside Chanel’s President of Fashion, Bruno Pavlovsky, and bopping along as her song “Come Into My World” played during the show. The 6pm presentation, however, was where most of the celebrities came out of the woodwork. Margot Robbie, wearing a white silk lingerie-inspired set from the spring/summer 2027 collection, was there, as was Nicole Kidman, who wore a black grain de poudre jacket with matching pants, a silk cotton top and a white cotton shirt, also from spring/summer 2027. Her longtime friend and collaborator, Baz Luhrmann was in attendance, Cathy Freeman wore a Charvet shirt from Blazy’s Chanel debut and Joel Edgerton made an appearance too.

Margot Robbie
In 2018, Karl Lagerfeld made Margot Robbie Chanel’s final global ambassador before his death. Since, Robbie has been the face of Chanel’s iconic No. 5 fragrance, starred in multiple films for the house alongside the likes of ASAP Rocky and Kylie Minogue, and fronted campaigns for the house’s new collections under Virginie Viard and now, Matthieu Blazy.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman’s relationship with Chanel began in an official capacity in 2004, when she starred in a campaign for Chanel No.5 fragrance in a film directed by fellow Australian, friend and collaborator, Baz Luhrmann. Kidman has remained a muse and fan of Chanel in the preceding decades, wearing Lagerfeld’s designs on countless red carpets and being named a global ambassador of the house in 2025.
Kylie Minogue
Though Kylie Minogue hasn’t worked with Chanel in an official capacity, Matthieu Blazy made his love of Australia’s pop princess known in 2025 when he engaged director Michel Gondry to recreate the video he directed for Minogue’s 2001 hit “Come Into My World” for the campaign of Chanel’s new 25 handbag. Minogue’s tracks often feature on Blazy’s runway playlists and she performed at the Chanel cruise after-party in Sydney.
Baz Luhrmann
Baz Luhrmann’s relationship with Chanel began in 2004, when he directed the campaign film for Chanel’s No.5 fragrance, starring Nicole Kidman. At the time, the film was the most expensive commercial ever made.
Cathy Freeman
The Australian icon and Olympian doesn’t necessarily have a relationship with Chanel, but she is one of Australia’s national treasures, so it only makes sense to have a history maker at a history-making event.
