Nepo-darling Brooklyn Beckham has the life we all dream of. A beneficiary of the fame and fortune of his parents—the ever adorable David and Victoria Beckham—Brooklyn has been able to try on many professional hats in his still-young adulthood. The 25-year-old has been a model, a photographer, a chef, a hot sauce entrepreneur, a sake mogul, and, most recently—a smoothie promoter. Married to actress and filmmaker Nicola Peltz-Beckham, Brooklyn has been able to float between careers and money-making ventures, finding joy in a variety of pursuits. Who doesn’t want his life?
Unfortunately, the eldest Beckham spawn still seems to attract his share of criticism. Fortunately, Beckham knows he’s cracked the good life, saying, “I’m just doing what I love doing, staying healthy, being happy, and that’s what it is. There are always going to be people out there who try and pull you down.” And the haters? “I always wish them well.”
So while we wait eagerly for Brooklyn’s next move, we’re taking a deep dive into his ever-evolving career path. Below, every industry he’s tried his hand at (so far).
Brooklyn Beckham’s First Job Was A Barista
Brooklyn’s foray into the workforce was surprisingly normal, landing his first job at 15 as a barista in a West London coffee shop. According to multiple reports, David and Victoria encouraged the teenager to take the job (which was said to pay £2.68 per hour) to learn the value of money. We try to lead by example, by showing them it’s important to work hard,” David told Huffington Post. “We juggle everything around the family because our main priority is the children, simple as that, and it always will be, but being hard-working is the best thing you can show children.”
Brooklyn Beckham’s Short-lived Football Career
Brooklyn came close to following in his famous father’s impressive footballing steps, playing for Arsenal’s youth team as a young teenager. When he was 16, however, he was released from the team, after failing to receive a scholarship. David later reflected on his son’s decision to leave football saying it “broke [his] heart.”
“One of my boys turned around to me the other day and said, ‘Daddy, I’m not sure I want to play football all the time,’” David told ABC back in 2015. “He said, ‘Every time I step onto the field, I know people are saying, ‘This is David Beckham’s son,’ and if I am not as good as you, then it is not good enough.’”
Brooklyn Was A Model
Like many other nepo babies, Brooklyn has tried his hand at modelling in the past, even landing a £1m contract with Superdry in November 2021. However this ambassadorship was short lived, with the brand announcing they were no longer working with Brooklyn in July 2022.
The statement said: “Superdry works with a range of brand ambassadors and enjoyed working with Brooklyn during the launch of our new flagship Oxford Street store and during our Autumn/Winter 21 campaign. We always review the ambassadors who feature in our campaigns and decided to work with a different range of talent for Spring/Summer 22.”
Brooklyn Beckham’s Wildlife Photography
Next on Brooklyn’s list of pursuits was his career as a photographer. Despite having no formal training, Brooklyn shot a Burberry Brit campaign when he was just 16. His list of clients expanded to include shoots with well-known celebrities like actress Sophie Turner for 1883 Magazine, and a series of images for Victoria Beckham’s Reebok collaboration.
Then at 18, he published a photography book, titled ‘What I See’. A visual documentation of life through the eyes of one of the most famous celebrity offspring, the book spanned images from a Beckham family trip to Kenya, to a Hillary Clinton rally, with a hefty dose of selfies of Brooklyn himself in between.
Unfortunately for Brooklyn, the book received significant backlash, with many taking aim at his out-of-focus snaps, and simplistic captions like, “Elephants in Kenya. So hard to photograph but incredible to see.” But the then-teenager told W Magazine it was all part of his artistic style. “Some people thought I did [it by] accident, which is why I kind of had to explain it. But, you know, it’s kind of my style,” he said.
Shortly after the book was published, Brooklyn announced he would be furthering his photography skills with a four year course at Parsons School of Design in New York. But after one year abroad, The Mirror reported he had decided to return home to be closer to his family.
Brooklyn Beckham’s Career As A Chef
Brooklyn’s longest-lived career venture is as a chef. He reportedly made the pivot during lockdown when, like many of us, he was forced to try his hand at home cooking. By October 2022, he had landed an appearance cooking on the US Today Show, where he attempted to make a sausage and egg sandwhich. Brooklyn was widely criticised for choosing such a simple recipe, which featured bacon, sausage, a fried egg, and tomato sauce between two slices of white bread.
But, ever the optimist, Brooklyn leant into his newfound hobby, launching a web series aptly titled Cookin’ with Brooklyn. Again, the series — which reportedly cost $100,000 to produce — and the recipes at the centre of it were the subject of much internet ridicule, with Twitter collectively losing it’s mind over things like the inclusion of a cork when cooking bolognese sauce, and Brooklyn describing himself as a ‘nutter’ in the kitchen while making a fairly standard gin and tonic.
Fans may (or may not) be surprised to hear that, despite becoming a professional cook, Brooklyn has never had a formal cooking lesson. That’s right: Speaking to The Times about his cooking career, Brooklyn said, “Unfortunately I’ve never done, like, a cooking class, but I’m obsessed with watching MasterClass [online classes with experts in their field].”
Brooklyn Beckham’s Sake Brand
Another of Beckham’s ventures is WESAKE, a sake brand offering both canned and bottled sake. Beckham partnered with his friend and beverage mogul Pablo Rivera to launch WESAKE in 2023. The product is reportedly brewed in a 280-year-old sake brewery in Kobe Japan.
Brooklyn Beckham Does A Pop-Up Restaurant
Which brings us to Brooklyn’s latest venture: a delivery-only pop up restaurant. Taking to Instagram to share the news, Brooklyn wrote: “I’m so excited to be working with @ubereats to launch my ultimate takeaway menu,” adding that the dishes are “inspired by [his] travels around the world.”
Never one to be put off by a lack of formal training, the deliver-only restaurant opened partnership with Uber Eats in January 2024, with customers able to choose from a selection of Brooklyn’s five favourite meals, including 12-hour slow-cooked Bolognese, Chinese-style pork and prawn dumplings, chicken tikka masala, and his grandmother Peggy’s recipe for her English breakfast sandwich.
Brooklyn Beckham’s Hot Sauce Brand
In October 2024, Brooklyn Beckham launched the hot sauce brand, Cloud23. In the few months since his launch, his first batches of Hot Habanero and Sweet Jalapeno sauces sold out rapidly. The organic and non-GMO hot sauces also come with a line of cute merch, including caps and hoodies featuring the Cloud23’s cherubic logo.
Brooklyn Beckham Spruiks Blue Smoothies (For A Good Cause)
Brand collabs are Brooklyn’s bread and butter—and his latest is for a good cause. Partnering with a Mexico City-based venue, Mora Mora, Brooklyn concocted an Erewhon-style blue smoothie with vanilla protein, mango, banana, coconut yogurt, hemp, water, coconut cream and berries. “A cloudy smoothie that will fuel your resolutions to start the year on the right track. It doesn’t have Cloud23 sauce, but it actually tastes amazing with a drop of sweet jalapeño,” Beckham wrote on Instagram. Ten percent of the profits will reportedly go to animal rescue efforts.
