Didn’t make it to Madison Square Garden for Harry Styles’ 30-night residency? Never mind — Variety has reported Styles is working with documentarian John Wilson on a concert film that goes inside the historic New York leg of his Together Together tour.

After Styles was spotted in New York with Wilson trailing behind him with a camera, rumours of the concert documentary were swirling. Two sources confirmed to Variety this week that Wilson has been filming Styles since August, when he commenced his MSG residency, but representatives for Styles, Wilson and Universal (which is rumoured to be the film’s producer) had no immediate comment on the project. The Together Together tour supports Styles’ fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, with the tour’s MSG leg breaking the record for the longest-ever single-engagement residency at the venue. And a historic moment like that warrants a documentary to immortalise it, don’t you think?

The documentary’s director, John Wilson, got his start directing music videos, and has since gone on to direct David Byrne’s of Talking Heads tour documentary, as well as create an HBO comedy docuseries titled How To with John Wilson, which is produced by the filmmaker behind You Can See Everything, Nathan Fielder.

What Will Harry Styles’ Concert Documentary Be About?

Focusing only on Styles’ historic 30-night residency at Madison Square Garden, Variety reports that the concert documentary will be “a hybrid of live performances and a glimpse into Styles’ world.” A source reports that the film will go beyond a focus on Styles alone, involving the team involved in the tour and the fans at the concerts too, along with Styles’ inner circle. This “behind the curtain” approach is typical of Wilson’s documentary-making style, often favouring a candid, “always on” approach to capture his subjects in their natural habitats as opposed to a more polished, straight-to-camera format.

Who Will Be In Harry Styles’ Concert Documentary?

Apart from the man himself, the documentary is reportedly taking a more holistic look at the New York segment of his tour, honing in on the people making it happen — think his band, his team, the production crew and so on — as well as Styles’ die-hard fans.

When Will Styles’ Concert Documentary Be Released?

So far, Styles’ and Wilson’s teams and Universal have been tight-lipped on the project, so a potential release date is hard to pin down. Styles’ MSG residency doesn’t wrap up until October 31 2026, though, with his tour running until August 28 2027, so we would wager a guess that we won’t lay eyes on the documentary film until after the tour is finished. We’re crossing our fingers for a late-2027 release. Variety’s sources said there’s a chance the film will be released in cinemas by Universal, but again, nothing has been confirmed.

Is Harry Styles Coming To Australia

Styles is wrapping up the 2026 leg of Together Together in Australia, playing four shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on November 27 and 28, and December 2 and 4, before heading north to Sydney, where he’ll play two shows on December 12 and 13. There are a handful of tickets left for the Australian shows (as in, literally, a handful) so if you missed out the first time, you might still have a chance of winning some tickets on Ticketmaster. Although, chances are you’ll have to sit alone — sorry, beggars can’t be choosers.
