THE RUNDOWN
- Hailey Bieber recently visited Sydney to launch her beauty brand, Rhode, and to attend several media events.
- The beauty mogul was photographed arriving at Sydney airport wearing what appeared to be a third engagement ring and alternating engagement rings while in Sydney.
- While the details of the new ring are unknown, it appears to be an elongated cushion-cut East-West diamond on a thin gold band.
Hailey Bieber may have just hard-launched a new engagement ring while in Sydney. The model and beauty mogul swept through Sydney launching her beauty brand Rhode, attending a string of media events — including the Wuthering Heights premiere in a stunning naked dress — but it was the diamond on her finger, spotted on arrival at Sydney airport, that truly caught our attention. A super-elongated cushion-cut stone worn in an East-West setting, it appears entirely different from anything we’ve seen on Bieber’s hand before and looks like a new commission, which would make it the third engagement ring
This is, after all, someone who has form when it comes to landmark diamonds. Justin Bieber proposed in 2018 with a 6–10 carat oval solitaire by New York jeweller Jack Solow of Solow & Co. — a hidden pavé halo tucked discreetly beneath the centre stone, the whole thing estimated at around $400,000 USD. Then, in 2024, to coincide with their vow renewal (and Hailey’s pregnancy announcement, which rather efficiently put an end to the breakup rumours), Justin presented a new Lorraine Schwartz oval — more elongated, slightly weightier at an estimated 11 carats, and valued at approximately $1.5 million USD. The original was duly reset as a pinky ring, which Hailey wears to this day.

Hailey Bieber has become something of a go-to on the subject of engagement rings. Recently, model Marianne Fonseca, who married Chainsmokers musician Drew Taggart in late December 2025, appeared on the Hot Smart Rich podcast and revealed that Bieber had offered her some pointed advice on the matter. “She told me to, whatever shape I was going to get, make sure you get an elongated one,” Fonseca shared. “She said when she got her new ring, it’s not actually that much bigger than the other ring — she just got an elongated version. She said, ‘whatever you’re going to get, just get Drew to get elongated.’”
Now, Bieber has pivoted again. As noted by TikTok account The Rowe Review, there are certain constants across all three rings: a clean solitaire setting, an impressive carat weight, and a preference for diamonds that flatter the finger. The east-west engagement ring has been having a major celebrity moment since Zendaya debuted her ring from Tom Holland in early 2025, and Bieber who is never one to miss a trend is riding the wave. She alternated her rings throughout her Sydney visit — wearing her second ring to the Wuthering Heights premiere but debuting the new East-West style at a Mecca event earlier that same day.
As of writing, the jeweller and the full story behind the new ring remain unconfirmed.
Below, we’re taking you on a tour of all three.

Details are still emerging on Bieber’s newest diamond, but the stone appears to be a super-elongated cushion cut set horizontally across the finger — a striking departure from the oval solitaires that have defined her ring history to date. Whether it represents a third upgrade or a redesign of an existing stone, it signals that Bieber’s taste in diamonds is, much like the rest of her aesthetic, perpetually evolving.

Hailey Bieber’s Second Oval-Cut Engagement Ring

Debuted alongside Hailey’s pregnancy announcement and the couple’s vow renewal in Hawaii in 2024, this ring was an unmistakable upgrade — and a very deliberate one. Justin worked with high jewellery favourite Lorraine Schwartz, whose client list also includes Beyoncé and Blake Lively, on a stone specifically chosen for its elongated proportions. As Hailey explained in W magazine with characteristic understatement: “Actually, this is only one carat bigger. It’s just elongated.” Our local jeweller, Monika Ruggerino, had already explained the logic to ELLE Australia: “There has been an increased desire for size above all else, and these elongated cuts offer a larger size appearance at a lower cost.” The Biebers, it should be noted, did not appear to be shopping on a budget.

Hailey Bieber’s First Engagement Ring

Justin proposed on the seventh day of the seventh month — July 7, 2018 — in the Bahamas, having spent several weeks working closely with jeweller Jack Solow of New York’s Solow & Co. on the piece. The result was a clean, elegant solitaire with one brilliant detail kept almost entirely out of sight. “In the end, Justin wanted something that would gracefully accentuate Hailey’s beautifully shaped hands,” Solow told People. “We settled on an oval stone that was just exceptional in its length and grace.” The hidden pavé halo — so subtly placed that most photographs never captured it — added dimension without disturbing the ring’s minimalist silhouette. Hailey has since had it resized as a pinky ring, and wears it regularly alongside its successors.
