Move Over Butter Yellow, There’s A New Colour I’m Crushing On This Winter

It all started with a sweater. You know the kind — the one that makes you stop mid-scroll because the colour is so unexpectedly good you immediately start mentally reorganising your wardrobe around it.

Then came a Meshki top (which, naturally, went straight into my cart), followed by a pair of satin heels in exactly the same shade. Before long, my entire algorithm had surrendered, serving me an endless stream of dresses, bags, knitwear and accessories in one very specific hue.

Not forest green. Not sage. Not quite olive. This colour sits somewhere between a perfectly ripe pear and the first signs of spring, with just a whisper of chartreuse and the tiniest nod to lime. It’s bright without feeling fluorescent, fresh without being sugary, and somehow manages to look just as expensive paired with chocolate brown and burgundy as it does with crisp white.

Whatever you choose to call it, I simply know it as the green that has been living rent-free in my head for weeks.

And once I noticed it, I couldn’t unsee it. Every brand I love seemed to be embracing the shade. Suddenly, it felt less like a passing microtrend and more like fashion’s collective answer to the question: what comes after butter yellow?

Which brings me to a confession. As someone who has spent the better part of the last year happily rotating between butter yellow, powder blue and the occasional pop of cobalt, I didn’t think another colour could tempt me quite so quickly. Yet here I am, happily replacing those familiar favourites with pear green — and honestly, I have zero regrets.

The best part? While most bright colours feel reserved for warmer weather, this one somehow thrives in winter. It cuts through an otherwise neutral wardrobe, breathes new life into classic black tailoring and makes even the simplest outfit feel considered.

Consider this your permission slip to stop saving colour for spring. If my TikTok algorithm is anything to go by, pear green has officially arrived — and I, for one, am completely on board.
